I spent over 23 years as a London based trumpet player in the Royal Air Force Central Band I was also a member of the famous RAF Squadronaires Big Band. I have toured all over the world performing solos in some of the world’s finest concert halls working with musicians from the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Radio Big Band. I have also played with the New Squardronaires Orchestra. When not performing with the RAF I was free lancing, working on cruise liners and doing professional shows. I am currently playing in the Good Guys Orchestra and various Jazz ensembles including my own band JazzD8. My current full time position is Head of Brass at the prestigious Stamford Endowed Schools.
I have played on many trumpets during my career; I consider my Geneva Balanced trumpet to be the instrument that stands way above them all. Many people have commented on its hauntingly beautiful dark sound and projection.
