New Zealand cornet star Kyle Lawson is the latest musician to become an endorsee and international Artist for Geneva Instruments.

 

From his formative years Kyle was mentored by the highly respected NZ cornet player Kevin Jarrett and is regarded as one of the most gifted young brass players of his generation.

 

A recipient of the Adrienne, Lady Stewart Performance Bursary in 2010, Kyle was appointed Principal Cornet of the National Youth Brass Band of New Zealand in 2011 and Co-Principal Cornet of the National Australia Brass Youth Band in both 2013 & 2014.

 

Kyle Lawson won the NZ Junior Champion of Champions solo title in 2010, the NZ Amateur Cornet Championship in 2011 and the coveted title ‘NZ National Cornet Champion’ in 2013.

 

Kyle is currently the Principal Cornet of the Woolston Brass in Christchurch and as a member of the National Band of New Zealand toured China & Korea in 2014.

 

Since 2010 Kyle Lawson has been a member of the prestigious New Zealand Army Band performing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in London (2012), the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland (2012), the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (2013) and in Lucerne, Switzerland (2014).

 

Kyle was crowned the inaugural ‘New Zealand Young Brass Musician of the Year’ (2014).

 

In 2015 the Geneva International Performance artist won the 2015 Australian and New Zealand 'Cornet Champion' - winning the award against thirteen top southern hemisphere rivals and has been appointed principal cornet of the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick band.

 

Kyle is proud to have been appointed an international Artist performing exclusively on Geneva Instruments.
